The HIV/AIDS Program: The Dental Services Report

 

Installing the Dental Services Report Database Utility (Web Download)

 

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you encounter any technical issues while installing or operating the utility. Most technical issues have simple solutions.

Minimum Requirements

Operating System: Windows 2000 SP3 or Windows XP. This utility is not compatible with Macintosh operating systems at this time. This utility is also not compatible with Vista or Office 2007. Facilities using these programs should submit paper forms.

Processor: Pentium 133 MHz or higher

RAM: 64 MB

Display: Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution monitor with 256 colors (Optimal display setting is 1024 x 768.) To Change Display Settings
Right-click an open area of your desktop, left-click on Properties, and click the Settings tab. Left-click and drag the slider control under Screen Area to the 1024 x 768 pixels setting. Click the 'OK' button to accept the change. Click 'OK' again to clear the Display Properties dialog box. Click 'Yes' when asked if you want to keep the new settings.

Setup Instructions

  1. Visit the Dental Section of the Data Reporting Requirements Web Page.
  2. Right-click on the DSR Database Utility (DSRSetup.exe) link and choose 'Save Target As…'
  3. Save the file to your Windows desktop. (It may be deleted once you have successfully installed the Database Utility.)
  4. Double-click the DSRSetup icon on the desktop. The "WinZip self-extractor" window will open.
  5. Click the 'Unzip' button and wait for the confirmation screen to appear.
  6. Click the 'OK' button to clear the confirmation screen.
  7. Click the 'Close' button to exit WinZip.
  8. Use My Computer or Windows Explorer to browse to the folder c:\Program Files\Dental\Setup. Double-click the SETUP icon.

    Note: If you see the following message while attempting to install the Database Utility, please contact your network administrator.

  9. Click 'Next' after reading the Welcome screen.
  10. Enter your name and organization in the Customer Information screen and click 'Next'.
  11. When prompted to choose the setup type, select 'Typical'.
  12. At the Ready to Install screen, click 'Install'.
  13. The Completing the Setup screen will appear when the application is installed. Click 'Finish'.

The HIV/AIDS Dental Services Report Database Utility is now installed. Double-click the Database Utility icon on your desktop to begin using the program. Depending on your PC's security settings, you may receive any of several warning messages. Follow the instructions below:

  • Click 'No' if asked, "Do you want to block unsafe expressions?"
  • Click 'Yes' if asked, "Do you want to open this file?"
  • Click 'Open' if asked, "Do you want to open this file or cancel the operation?"

First-time users should review the Getting Started Guide by clicking the top button on the main menu. A copy of the Getting Started Guide is included in the Dental Services Report mailing.
